Iraq for Obama

The Iraqi prime minister endorsed Obama for president in the German magazine Der Spiegel. Interesting.

This is a test post to see if I can publish from my iPhone.

Dark Knight

I went to the Dark Knight today with Juli. It is a fantastic movie -- definitely the best of the summer so far. And I don't think anything coming out will be able to beat it. I'll try to do a full review soon...

Living in Cape Town

Living in Cape Town for three weeks was quite interesting. And we really were living there. We stayed in a rented house (not a hotel, motel or hostel of some sort) and we cleaned (mostly) daily and made all of our own meals. We even got to ...

Our First Time in Masi

We got into Cape Town on a Friday evening and after some drama, made it back to the team house around 7 in the evening. The longtermers we were working with (Mike and Kalyn Arndt) had a taco soup dinner waiting for us (which was great!). We spent ...

First look at Masi

Next Few Weeks

The next few weeks will likely be filled with posts about South Africa, mostly. I'm going to start posting pictures, stories and thoughts from my time there, starting today. Look for 'em, as they'll all be good posts, I'm sure.

Lunch @ Louie’s

I had lunch at Louie's today with Conner. He eats there so much that they comped our meal. Score! Can't complain about that at all! Incidentally, I had the blackened chicken sandwich with a side salad. It was good. Real good.

who am i?

i'm a twenty-something starting this journey called life. i studied microbiology and chemistry in college and currently work as a systems analyst. that means i manage computers (and a lot of them at that -- linux, solaris, os x, and windows). but that's just what i do to pay the bills. less important than where i am at now is where i am going. for quite some time i've had a nagging voice whispering "mission" in my ear. thus the direction i walk. contained in these pages is a log of a bit of that journey (and everything else that i do).
